Alashanek Ya Balady Sustainable Development Association was established in 2002 by a group of university students, driven by their belief that solving the multidimensional problem of poverty goes beyond traditional charitable efforts.

The founders were convinced that community development should be built on improving living standards in a sustainable way, achieving economic and social inclusion, and that youth participation and women’s empowerment are essential pillars of this process.
